Comparison chart
Below is a comparison chart showing the capacities the different OutClass Servers are capable of storing.
The figures in the chart are calculated according to the average size of the ripped media.
CD's ripped in high quality FLAC format average size = 300MB
Or
DVD's ripped average size = 10GB (6GB for any DNLA player except Apple TV (e.g. Dune HD) + 4GB for Apple TV, iPad etc.)
Or
Blu-Ray ripped average size = 50GB (43GB for any DNLA player except Apple TV (e.g. Dune HD) + 7GB for Apple TV, iPad etc.)
If you are only ever going to use Apple TV and never going to change the player / streamer then you can set the OutClass to automatically delete the large uncompressed file and just keep the 4GB or 7GB converted file for Apple TV. This is an automatic process upon a successful conversion but it does mean that if you want to add another player like a Dune HD at a later date then you would have to rip all the movies again.
